A Field Trip to Remember... Madison

We had a wonderful field trip to Madison on Wednesday, March 27th. Students arrived at school early and departed Brookfield Elementary at 8:15 AM. Upon arrival at the State Capitol Building, we stowed our lunches, posed for a fourth grade photo, and began our tours throughout the capitol including the rooms of the senate, assembly, and state supreme court. We tried to see the Governor's conference room, but Governor Doyle was using it for a meeting so we couldn't interrupt! We ended the tour outside on the observation deck - what a neat opportunity! Then we enjoyed our lunches in the basement of the capitol rotunda (unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate for eating outside). After lunch, we boarded the buses and headed to Camp Randall, home of the Wisconsin Badger Football team. We toured the facility, including the offices of the football coaches, the premium box seating, the suite of the UW Athletic Department, the indoor practice field, and the "real" field, too! Finally, we jumped on the buses to return to school. We arrived back around 3:15 PM! Thank you to our parent chaperones; Mrs. Busch, Mrs. Fuchs, and Mrs. Czechowski! It was a fantastic day of great fun with lots of learning, too!
