We've added two new widgits to our blog. They are located along the right hand column. The first is a shelf displaying our current read aloud. We hope this can facilitate some conversations about what we're reading and talking about in school. We use our read aloud as a reference in many of our mini-lessons.
The second is a list of the top 10 books rated by our class. You can now see the covers of the books(although the first one is giving me a little trouble at the moment.) The first 5 are displayed and if you push the "next" button at the bottom of the bookcase you can see the next 5. If you hover your mouse over one of the books a brief summary will pop up. If your child is having a hard time finding a book to read or you are looking for a little gift, this would be a wonderful place to look!
We hope these two things can bring the joy of reading into your homes a little more. We sure do enjoy it here at school. Happy Reading!

The top ten books is great. Im glad that Diary Of A Wimpy Kid isnt first again! I love it too, but theres still much, much, better books out there. I like Diary Of A Wimpy Kid too, but I love Harry Potter A LOT more.
I ereally like the book master piece.
Also if you dray the mouse over the book-Don't Click it will have a summery of that book!
