During our Traditional Literature Unit in reading class, we have read many fun books! Today, we studied fractured fairy tales, humorous immitations of fairy tales. We read the fairy tale, Cinderella by Barbara McClintock, last week. Today, we read two fractured fairy tale versions of Cinderella; Cinderella Skeleton by Robert D. San Souci and Bigfoot Cinderrrrrella by Tony Johnston and James Warhola. After enjoying the stories with some giggles, we made some notes on what were the different elements of these fractured fairy tales from the original fairy tale. Tomorrow, we will read Cinderella's Rat by Susan Meddaugh. We have really enjoyed our Traditional Literature study!
