The Nature Center

Today we took a bus out to the Nature Center at Brookfield East High School. We spent the first 20 minutes exploring. Some students fed fish, others pet and fed lizards, and yet others watched the trantula crawl around in its cage.
Mr. Wolfe then took us through a powerpoint presentation where we learned more about bones, tendons, ligaments and joints. We talked about skulls and teeth and of course spent a lot of time laughing!
Lastly, we got into small groups and ventured out on a scavenger hunt. We took a map, compass and bundled up (it's COLD today!)Groups had to find special containers that had their group letter on them. We then took them back into the nature center to idenfity the type of skull.
We had a great day and thank the wonderful parent volunteers who joined us: Mrs. Nash, Mrs. Vraney, Mr. Ruege, Mr. Sydnor and Mrs. Fuchs.
