Oh What A Day!

This afternoon we had a great opportunity to work with Mr. Brodie Swanson. We were given the challenge to create the tallest balloon tower! A group in our class made the tallest one at approximately 9 feet 4 inches! Congratulations! Mr. Swanson then reminded us that people are a lot like balloons... we inflate when others are kind and include us and when we do well and feel good about ourselves. However, on the contrary, we deflate when others aren't so kind to us or don't include us and when we don't feel as well about ourselves. In our classroom, let's remember to inflate each other so that we have a classroom tower that continues to grow taller and taller each day that we are together! I know we can do it, fourth graders!

We started out this morning in math constructing geometric solids with straws and twist ties. We had to count the number of faces, edges, and vertices on our constructed rectangular prisms.

It was really fun with Brodie, but in the ballooon tower thing, my team didnt feel like a team, beacause (not saying who:), was not including us very much at all.=(
