Today we learned about what it took to make Wisconsin a state. First the land became the Northwest Territory. Then they made the Northwest Ordinance which was a plan to separate the land into states. Before becoming a state however Wisconsin had to first become its own territory. Then the population had to increase and finally they had to create a consitution. On May 29, 1848 Wisconsin became a state!
Does anyone remember where our first capital was?
