Marsha Diane Arnold Visits

Today was an exciting day at Brookfield Elementary! We had Marsha Diane Arnold visit our school. We learned a lot! Here is some of the fun learning... She talked with us about her career as an author. She collects ideas for her stories in her Scribbles and Scraps folders or in her writing journal. She has taken ideas from her children, her own childhood, and from her parents' lives, too. Mrs. Arnold shared that sometimes has to rewrite a story 10, 20, or even 30 times to make sure it is the best that it can be! She storytold parts of two of her books to us, Dancing Prancing Lily and A Heart of a Tiger. We even got to be the "congo" line drums as Lily moved the cows in as lead bell cow. Along with the other classes in our assembly, we presented Mrs. Arnold with an alternative ending to Dancing Prancing Lily!
